Student MVP field test

Fishing rankings should be earned, not guessed.

TrueCatch is testing a simple app idea for verified catches, fair leaderboards, and fishing challenges people can join without traveling to a tournament.

The problem

Fishing has great stories. Competition needs cleaner proof.

Catches can be exaggerated, photos can be reused, and casual anglers usually have no simple way to compete unless they join an official event. TrueCatch asks whether anglers care most about proof, easier competitions, leaderboards, personal bests, or community.

The future version could include a smart glove that verifies catches at the source. This MVP stays smaller: a landing page and survey that help decide what should be built first.

What this MVP tests

Which first feature would real anglers actually care about?

01

Verified catches

Do anglers want proof that a fish is real before it counts?

02

Anytime competition

Would people join challenges without entry fees, travel, or tournament schedules?

03

Leaderboards

Would rankings, personal bests, and rare species boards make fishing more exciting?

Concept preview

A public leaderboard where every result has a receipt.

The survey helps decide whether this should start with anti-cheating, easier competitions, personal-best tracking, or angler community.
